The time when firewire was required for hi-speed transfers. USB 1.0 simply was way too slow to manage a direct camera-to-computer connection, but in the future this is bound to change - why maintain two bus systems, if the speed difference almost doesn’t matter any more? What do you think?

1. Format your USB drive as FAT32 (FORMAT X: /fs:FAT32)
2. Download a zipped archive called syslinux
3. Unzip the archive to a directory in your hard drive
4. Go to the dos prompt and change to that directory
5. type syslinux X: (Where X is your usb drive)
6. Download the dsl-embedded.zip from a Damn Small Linux mirror site
7. Unzip the archive to a directory
8. Copy all the files from the DSL directory to the root of your usb drive
9. All done! now you can Restart and boot from your usb drive.
